Q: Are there game schedules or practice schedule available?
A: Practice and game schedules will be available in late March/early April. Game schedules cannot be set until we know how many players and teams we will have in each division. Our baseball teams are coached by volunteers and as you can imagine, many of these volunteers need to coordinate their own schedules in order to set practice schedules. They do their best to accommodate as many as possible, but we understand there may be conflicts with other activities.
Q: When does the season begin and end?
A: Opening day is typically in the beginning of April. It is a great opportunity to come out and meet your coach, fellow ball players, and extended baseball families. It is an East Fishkill tradition to have an opening day parade, ceremony, and then kick off the season with opening games. The season ends in the beginning of June.
Q: Can my child “play up” if I feel their skills would be more developed and challenged?
A: No. All players must play with their respective age groups.
Q: Can my child be placed on the same team with a friend?
A: All requests need to be submitted at time of registration. As a league we try to do everything we can to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee that all requests are fulfilled.
Q: Can I request my child be placed with a certain coach?
A: All requests need to be submitted at time of registration. We will try to do what we can to accomodate requests but cannot guarantee that all requests are fulfilled, especially in the competitive leagues where we try to create equitable teams.
Q. Do you offer a discount if I register more than one child in the same family?
A: Yes, we offer a multi-child discount. You will receive $10 off the second child, $15 off the third child and $20 off the fourth child.
Q. Can my child play in your league if we don't live in East Fishkill?
A: Yes. If you live in a neighboring town you may be eligible to play in the East Fishkill Babe Ruth League. There is a $50 fee for out-of-area residents charged by the town. You will be asked for your location when registering and will be provided information about it then.
